HB 2895     RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENTS.  EEP/WLU, JHA
         Amends the environmental impact statement law by:
         amending the definition of "environmental impact
         statement" or "statement" to include effects on the
         cultural practices of the community and State; and
         amending the definition of "significant effect" to include
         adverse effects on cultural practices.

HB 1971     RELATING TO FOREST RESERVES.                  WLU/EEP, FIN
         Defines "native forest" for tax purposes.

HB 2433     RELATING TO LAND USE.                             WLU, FIN
         Limits a land reclassification to the urban district to a
         five-year period, unless before the end of the period, the
         Land Use Commission finds there has been substantial
         progress in the urban development of the lands.

HB 2436     RELATING TO THE ALA WAI GOLF COURSE.              WLU, FIN
         Deletes the requirement that the Ala Wai Golf Course land
         be used only for a municipal golf course.

HB 2926     RELATING TO PUBLIC LANDS.                         WLU, FIN
         Transfers the Public Park along Front Street at Lahaina,
         Maui to the Department of Land and Natural Resources.

 
HB 2568     RELATING TO STATE PARKS.                          WLU, FIN
         Replaces the Aina Hoomalu Special Fund with the State
         Parks Special Fund to carry out program objectives.

HB 2427     RELATING TO GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS.       WLU, FIN
         Establishes a special fund to help support the operation
         and maintenance of the Statewide Planning and Geographic
         Information System, and enables the Office of Planning to
         charge fees for spatial analysis services.

HB 2573     RELATING TO THE SPECIAL FUNDS OF THE LAND
         DIVISION.                                         WLU, FIN
         Allows for the deposit moneys collected from lessees of
         public lands within industrial parks into the Special Land
         and Development Fund.  Abolishes the Industrial Park
         Special Fund and transfers the fund balance and
         liabilities to the Special Land and Development Fund.

HB 2574     RELATING TO THE SPECIAL LAND AND DEVELOPMENT FUND.WLU, FIN
         Allows for the deposit moneys generated by the disposition
         of mineral and water rights into the Special Land and
         Development Fund.

HB 2578     RELATING TO THE NATURAL AREA RESERVE FUND.        WLU, FIN
         Authorizes the one-time transfer of $500,000 from the
         Fund, to the General Fund for 2000-2001.

HB 2433     RELATING TO LAND USE.                             WLU, FIN
         Limits a land reclassification to the urban district to a
         five-year period, unless before the end of the period, the
         Land Use Commission finds there has been substantial
         progress in the urban development of the lands.

HB 2762     RELATING TO ISLAND BURIAL COUNCILS.               WLU, JHA
         Clarifies the current law to make records of the
         department of land and natural resources confidential if
         deemed sensitive by an island burial council or the Hawaii
         historic places review board.

HB 2782     RELATING TO BURIAL SITES.                         WLU, FIN
         Authorizes the DLNR to execute mitigation plans for the
         landowner, permittee, or developer, on request, for
         inadvertent discovery of burial sites.

HB 2577     RELATING TO HUNTING LICENSES.                     WLU, JHA
         Increases resident and nonresident hunting license fees.
         Requires applicants for a license to disclose if they are
         prohibited from using firearms for hunting.  Allows DLNR
         to establish hunting license application and issuance
         procedures and set fees through administrative rules.

           DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW IF TIME PERMITS
